Compensation is payable to an injured employee
who is off work for more than three days. The
employee will be reimbursed at the rate of 75%
of monthly earnings as stipulated by COIDA.
Compensation where the degree of disablement is 30% or less takes the form of a lump sum to the injured employee. Where disablement is more than 30%, it takes the form of a monthly pension.
The dependent is entitled to the payment of a lump sum of twice the monthly pension to which the employee would have been entitled to if they were 100% disabled.
The reasonable expenses incurred for the transportation of an injured employee to a hospital, doctor or to his residence, will be refunded in line with COIDA tariffs.
